We are supporting a number of charitable organisations that have supported Mitchie through his journey.

The Brain Tumour Charity is an organisation our consultant, Dr JP Kilday is involved in.  They undertake vital research into brain tumours, provide support to families affected by brain tumours.  The Brain Tumour Charity is currently funding research into medulloblastoma to identify new drug targets.

We were lucky enough to stay in the Ronald McDonald House in Manchester whilst Mitchell has been in hospital this year.  Ronald McDonald House provide a home away from home for families who need help while their loved one is in hospital.  They allow families to have a place to rest, a place to sleep and a place to cook and enjoy meals together.  A kind of normalcy in their upturned lives.

We want to support the Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity because they are raising funds to allow clinicians in Manchester to use DNA methylation profiling technology.   This technology costs £185,000.  It will help accurately diagnose the different types of brain tumour quickly so that the best and most appropriate treatment is provided to young patients quickly.  They also provide funding for things like bedside chairs for parents and music therapy, things that are vital when your child is in hospital for a long period of time.
